okay now that im done laughing this is a good opportunity to go on the record about the work ive done for what pumpkin i think, and why this is silly!

i didn’t know softowl or andrew at all before I started doing stuff for them, a mutual friend showed softowl my art after she mentioned she needed someone who could do vector work and she asked to see my portfolio. I’ve gotten to work on more projects since then and shes become very good friend. I owe her a lot! But I also earned the work I’ve gotten. Because that’s what it is! It’s work. It’s not some badge of honour or a way to say “I’m the best fan ever!!!” Its a job, and It’s a job I’ve worked very had to do my best on. I work hard to meet deadlines and do the best work I can, and when What Pumpkin needs something really quick because they’ve had an emergency I volunteer. I work hard to be professional and prompt and to put my best work into everything I do, not just Homestuck stuff. I’m very grateful for the opportunities I’ve gotten, but I also put my all into deserving them. If I keep getting work for them, itll be because they like my work, they think I’m reliable, and because they think Ill do a good job. What Pumpkin isn’t run by catering to friends, its business with very high standards of quality control. Professionalism is extremely important! The attitudes in this post are about as opposite of that as you can get.

working for whatpumpkin has been a shining highlight in my overall homestuck experience and gave me a huge booster shot of confidence that got me off my butt and believing enough in myself to do personal things ive always wanted to do. whatpumpkin was an amazing job opportunity where i got to work with really cool people and the idea that we’re only in it for recognition or to become “”“”internet famous”“” is insulting at best and i can taste your sour grapes through the screen.

yo the people on whatpumpkin worked their asses off to make good work, i can attest to that bc i saw it happen with my friends. maybe instead of kissing ass and getting mad at people caring about things you should stop being bitter on a scale that makes me look like a saint and figure out what you really actually want out of art (because if the answer is “to be internet famous” well).

are nepeta and terezi roleplaying… being hanged? or something??

they are both miming suicide by hanging and seppuku, respectively. i wasn’t too sure if terezi in particular was all that clear but i did pretend to stab myself through the gut a bunch of times to get a kind of reference (im really glad no one walked in on me while i was doing this it would have been super awkward) so even if it’s not correct that pose is how i would personally do it while standing i guess. originally she was sitting down because that’s the proper way to do it and nepeta was her second (i.e. the guy who stands behind you and beheads you after you stab yourself to end your suffering) but it threw the composition off a lot
